Skylane Optics, a supplier in high performance optical transceivers, will be exhibiting and showcasing the use of Narrow Band Tunable optical transceivers for three target applications

  • Linecards for Metropolitan areas up to 80km in distance
  • Mobile Fronthaul where the environmental conditions can be harsh
  • Remote PHY where optical transceivers are being used in outside cabinets to support Data, video and voice services (see image below)

Skylane Optics CEO, Philippe Bolle commented, “We are seeing the explosive growth of Internet traffic and the need for MSOs to address the sparing and provisioning of multiple wavelengths in a more efficient and cost-effective manner. Introducing some tunability within the modules dramatically reduces the sparing costs by as much as 95% and reducing the quantity of part codes by the same amount”.

Skylane Optics is exhibiting at Cable-Tec Expo (stand #1763) which takes place in 7001 – 14th Street, Denver, Colorado between 17 & 20 October 2017.
