Namur (Skylane optics / HQ), 24th April 2018

Skylane Optics is a Belgian company providing fiber optic and transceiver solutions.

2017 saw an increased number of projects for Skylane Optics who, following the opening of an office in the United States, has strengthened its Belgian roots by signing a collaborative agreement with Proximus.

“Skylane Optics started in 1998 as an SME created by Philippe Bolle.

Initially a dealer for a large global distributor, he launched his own brand in 2008, which has proven to be very successful”, recalls Quentin Bolle, Marketing & Communication Manager.

“Twenty years later, Skylane can boast solid expertise, a large database, short delivery times and an efficient laboratory, guaranteeing the quality of all its products.

These comply to European norms and are based on global standards.”

With 35 employees in Belgium, Sweden, Brazil and China, Skylane Optics today ranks as a major European provider.

Its transceiver, which translates light signals between the optical fiber and the switch, is also marketed in the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), Latin America and North America (Canada).

“We work with two thirds of the major European telecommunications operators.

Being able to supply fiber optics to all Belgian homes is a first and we’re over the moon about it”, Mr Bolle reiterated.

With Skylane, Proximus can count on a 100% Belgian partnership that’s 100% efficient:  2018 will be an even more successful year for its clients!
