SPIE Group, a Paris-listed energy and communications company, has acquired a 92% stake in the German fibre portfolio company ICG Group for an undisclosed amount.

This acquisition will enhance SPIE’s position in the fibre network industry, particularly as Germany is still in the early stages of fibre rollout and lags behind other European countries. ICG Group integrates the expertise of leading communication infrastructure service providers: Infratech, comcross, Schwan, TripleA Networks, and DPE.

In 2023, ICG Group generated over €230 million in revenue with margins exceeding 10%. The company employs more than 700 people across 16 locations in Germany, primarily in the Netherlands and Croatia. The current management team of ICG Group will retain an 8% stake. This acquisition enables SPIE to solidify its position as a market leader in the rapidly developing fibre networks and mobile telecommunications infrastructure sectors in Germany.
