SFP28:
The Third generation of the SFP interconnect systems designed for 25G performance per the IEEE 802.3 by specification (25GBASE) is called SFP28 that stands for Small Form-Factor Pluggable 28. The 25GBASE standard enables network bandwidth to be cost-effectively upgraded to support latest technology of server and storage solution, for both cloud and web-scale data center environment due to superior impedance control and less crosstalk design.
SFP28 adopts the same form factor as SFP+, just running at 25 Gb/s instead of 10Gb/s. And SFP+ cables can be plugged into SFP28 ports although they are not designed for 25Gb/s data rates.
Driven by the increasing demand for bandwidth requirement, the 25G Gigabit Ethernet or 25GBASE-T standard diverse into SFP28 optical transceiver, SFP28 DAC and AOC products.
Cable QSFP28:
The cables are compliant with IEEE 802.3bj, InfiniBand EDR, QSFP28 MSA standards and RoHS Compliant.
The assembly of this high speed cable meets and exceeds 100 Gigabit Ethernet, InfiniBand EDR and temperature requirements for performance and reliability.
Skylane Optics 100G QSFP28 Copper DAC or AOC are 4-channel parallel cables that can independently transmits and receives 28 Gbps per lane.
An aggregate data rate of 100Gbps over 3 meters transmission can be achieved by this DAC cable and up to 100m by the AOC.
